Yesterday Sun annouced having bought Innotek for an unknown amount but after buying MySql on January the 16th, this shows a real interest from Sun to the OpenSource community.
As a reminder, Innotek is the editor of the well known Virtualisation product VirtualBox. It will “will extend the Sun xVM platform onto the desktop and strengthen Sun’s leadership in the virtualization market”.
VirtualBox is running under Windows, Linux, Macintosh & OpenSolaris and allows to run Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4 and 2.6), ainsi que OpenBSD, amongst many others.
My opinion on this product is that it’s one of the best virtualisation on the market if not The best.
