About WordPress

WordPress is an Open Source project created by one of the founder of a company called Automattic. It is essentially what we could call “Blogging software”, but since its creation it has evolved in such a powerful tool that you can change it into any kind of websites.

WordPress was created in 2003 as the official successor of b2/cafelog (the website is still alive if you want to check it: http://cafelog.com/). You can see the announcement on b2 official page.

WordPress is focused on user experience and ease of use. They also focus on making the tools standard compliant, and by doing so, they created one of the most SEO friendly platform.
